There are no formal prerequisites to enroll in the NEBOSH IGC. However, candidates should possess a reasonable level of English language proficiency to fully comprehend the course material and complete the assessments effectively.

NEBOSH assessment is a 2-step process:
Unit IG1 (Theory Paper): It’s a scenario based open book exam to test your health and safety knowledge. You are given 24 hours to solve the NEBOSH exam. After that, a closing interview will be scheduled for the defense of your submissions. NEBOSH IG1 grading system is as follows:
- Pass: 45-64 marks
- Credit: 65-74 marks
- Distinction: 75+ marks
Unit IG2 (Practical Paper): A practical risk assessment report to see how you can make a workplace safe. 10 days will be provided for the submission of IG2 report after the submission of IG1. The report is marked either a pass or refer (fail).
NOTE: Both IG1 and IG2 must be passed to earn the NEBOSH International General Certificate.
